When making a phone call, you need to do the following properly :

• Opening 
• Conversing/telling the aim of telephoning 
• Closing

• Be polite, no matter whom you’re speaking to.
• Listen carefully and respond accordingly

Opening

Andy : Hello, this is Galuh. May I speak to

        Mely, please?

Irvan : Mely speaking. What’s up, Galuh?

Conversing/telling the aim of telephoning

Andy : I’m calling to tell you that we are going to go to Bali next holiday. Will you join us?

Irvan : really? I’d like to. Let me tell my parents first. I’ll tell you later.

Andy : All right. I’ll wait for your call.

Closing 

Irvan : O.K. Galuh. Thanks for calling.

Andy : My pleasure. Bye now.

Irvan : bye bye
